The activation of many international digital wallets for the payment of government service fees across all Government of Dubai companies has been announced by Dubai Finance (DOF). The Department verified that a number of international digital wallets are now accepted at government service centers to pay government fees; these include the DubaiNow app and DubaiPay, a smart payment gateway in Dubai. By the end of the year, it is anticipated that all of the wallets in this group will have been activated.
A range of international and local digital wallets, such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Alipay plus & Alipay, Rupay, Diners, Discover, China Union Pay, Wechat Pay, NPCI QR (UPI), and Soft POS/Tap to Pay, are now easily available for use by individuals, companies, and tourists interacting with Government of Dubai entities.
His Excellency, “The activation of global and regional digital wallets across Dubai’s government payment ecosystem is a major milestone and a qualitative leap towards realising our vision of a cashless government,” said DOF Director General Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh. It demonstrates our dedication to improving openness and creativity in the provision of public services in accordance with international best practices.
