According to Valerio Soldani, Italian Trade Commissioner and Director of the Italian Trade Agency’s Dubai Office, Italy has emerged as the UAE’s second-largest supplier of oil and gas equipment, with a market share that nearly doubled from 2025 to 17% in 2026. Soldani stressed that market share, not export value, was the focus of the rise. On the fringes of ADIPEC 2026, Soldani told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that about one-third of Italian technology and machinery exports to the UAE are used in the energy and oil and gas industries. He pointed out that Italian exports to the UAE doubled over the previous four years, reaching a record high in 2025 across all industries.

169 Italian businesses, including 50 under the Italian Trade Agency pavilion, are taking part at ADIPEC 2026, according to Soldani. The show this year marks the agency’s centenary and 100 years of marketing Italian goods abroad. According to him, ADIPEC is one of the agency’s most significant trade shows, giving Italian businesses the chance to connect with consumers from the UAE, the surrounding area, and other markets. In subsequent editions, he said, the agency hopes to get additional exhibition space.

In addition to new initiatives beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026, Soldani highlighted the UAE’s significance as a market and stated that the agency intends to grow its presence and activities in the nation through expanded participation in exhibitions and trade events. He pointed out that dealing with those markets is made easier by the UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPAs) with other nations. He said that more than 600 Italian businesses are directly present in the UAE, taking advantage of free zones and chances to open branches, set up assembly lines, and conduct business throughout the seven emirates.
