His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, talked on Thursday about measures to strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two countries in support of their strategic partnership and common interests. As part of His Highness’ state visit to Germany, the two leaders met at Villa Borsig in Berlin, where the talks took place. In order to bolster regional security and stability, His Highness and President Steinmeier also examined a number of regional and global issues, such as initiatives to advance enduring peace in the Middle East.

His Highness pointed out that Germany and the UAE have a long history of friendship and collaboration that predates the UAE’s founding. He claimed that throughout the course of more than 50 years, the two nations’ relations have advanced through several significant turning points, leading to their strategic alliance. He said that this development shows a common dedication to enhancing collaboration in ways that promote shared interests and enhance the prosperity of both nations and their citizens. His Highness praised President Steinmeier for helping to improve ties between Germany and the United Arab Emirates. He also emphasised the significance of German businesses in fostering bilateral economic relations and the contribution of the German community in the United Arab Emirates to the development of relationships between the peoples of both nations.
