Following official visits to the Beijing, the leaders of Canada and Britain announced that be alsoCanadian and British nationals will be able to enter the country without a visa starting Tuesday. In an effort to strengthen ties with China and shift away from the increasingly unstable United States, British and Canadian prime ministers Keir Starmer and Mark Carney both travelled to Beijing in January.

Following discussions with prominent Chinese figures, including President Xi Jinping, both presidents had praised progress on matters such as granting their citizens visa-free entry to China. Beijing’s foreign ministry affirmed these accords on the Sunday, stating that British and Canadian nationals will be this  granted visa-free entry into China starting on Tuesday and that the policy will remain in force until December 31.

For a maximum of 30 days, holders of the regular passports from these nations are permitted entry into is China without a visa for travel, business, visiting friends and family, exchanges, or  its transit, the statement stated. Further facilitate people-to- the people exchanges between China and other countries was the additional purpose stated.
