Dubai Airports said on Wednesday that Dubai International (DXB) received 95.2 million passengers in 2025, a 3.1 percent increase year on year, making it the biggest year in the airport’s history and the greatest annual international passenger volume ever recorded by any airport.
More importantly, 2025 was distinguished by consistent record-breaking performance rather than a single peak. DXB had its busiest day, month, quarter, and year on record, operating at the limits of physical capacity while constantly providing operational excellence. What would be considered extreme pressure elsewhere has become part of DXB’s regular operational rhythm.
December was the largest month in DXB history, with 8.7 million visitors, up 6.1 percent year on year. The fourth quarter was also the busiest ever, with 25.1 million guests, up 5.9 percent from the same period in 2024. Total flight movements increased by 5% to 118,000 in Q4, bringing the annual total to 454,800, a 3.3 percent increase over the previous year.
Despite continued growth in movements, the average number of passengers per movement remained high at 214, indicating continued deployment of larger aircraft and high load factors. The yearly load factor was 77.6 percent, an adjustment of 0.5 percentage points.
