Beginning on January 2, 2025, Emirates will provide a second scheduled service between Colombo and Dubai. The recently launched service, which will fly as EK654/655, boosts the route’s seat capacity by 30% and helps Sri Lanka significantly increase visitor arrivals by 2025.

Up to March 31, 2025, the extra service will run six days a week. Every day but Wednesdays, EK654 will take off from Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:05 a.m. and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, at 4 p.m. (all times are local).

EK655, the return flight, will take off from BIA at 10 p.m. and arrive in DXB at 1.05 a.m. the next day. On Wednesdays starting April 1, 2025, a seventh weekly flight will depart at 10:05 p.m. and arrive at DXB at 12:55 a.m. The return flight will leave Dubai at 1:20 p.m. and arrive in Colombo at 7:15 p.m.
Currently, Emirates offers a third daily route via Male in addition to two direct flights between Colombo and Dubai.

With eight First Class suites, forty-two Business Class seats, and 310 Economy Class seats, the extra trip can carry up to 360 passengers. Its extended flight schedule improves convenience and choice while providing a first-rate customer experience.
A long-standing strategic cooperation exists between Emirates and Sri Lanka Tourism, which works together on projects and programs to increase travel to Sri Lanka.
