The UAE delegation was led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, at the 53rd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Industrial Cooperation Committee, which was held in Qatar.
The UAE’s involvement demonstrates its dedication to fostering closer ties with GCC members and promoting cooperative initiatives for long-term economic integration throughout the Gulf.

Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Dr. Farah Al Zarouni, Assistant Undersecretary for Standards and Regulations of MoIAT, Osama Amir Fadhel, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Accelerators at MoIAT, and Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, were among the delegation members.

One of the main themes discussed at the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee conference was the process for using standards to identify Gulf products. A whitepaper on industrial integration among the GCC countries was also evaluated, along with a plan to execute a common industrial development strategy. During the occasion, the Gulf Industrial Excellence Award program was also highlighted, and a number of businesses received recognition for their achievements.

To improve cooperation and integration among members, commerce and industry ministers met in Qatar, the current chair of the GCC session. The gatherings gave the GCC a chance to share knowledge, discuss changes in industrial laws and regulations, and increase its visibility in regional and global fora.
