In order to address the global environmental and climate concerns in a way that advances the realisation of sustainable development, the emirate has also emerged as a major hub for the organisation and hosting of significant international events, particularly in the fields of sustainability and innovation.

Sheikh Ahmed made this declaration at the opening of the 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), which is being held by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 1 to October 3, 2024.

While Sheikh Ahmed was touring WETEX, high-ranking officials Matar Humaid Al Tayer, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, and others accompanied him. Water desalination, green technology, clean and renewable energy solutions, environmental sustainability, technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, research and development, and more were all covered in the briefing.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, said, “Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, we organise the Water, Energy, Technology.
