
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah spoke by phone on Saturday with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar about efforts to reduce ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Saturday that Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah spoke with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, and Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, via phone.
During the calls, talks centred on measures to de-escalate tensions and terminate existing armed conflicts. According to a ministry statement, His Highness emphasised the Kingdom’s commitment to regional security and stability and its strong and balanced relations with both friendly nations.
Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, visited New Delhi on Thursday and met with EAM Jaishankar. In a second statement on Saturday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry stated that Saudi Arabia’s leadership ordered Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir’s journey to India and Pakistan on May 8-9.
