His Majesty In a ceremony on Thursday, Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council, received the 2024 Nile Award for Arab Innovators.

Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the president of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), was present at the event.

The award was delivered by Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Ahmed Fouad Hanno. The greatest cultural honour, the Nile Award, is given by the Supreme Council of Culture to notable Arabs who excel in the arts, social sciences, and literature.

Sheikh Sultan emphasised the Arab Republic of Egypt’s significant influence on Arab education, knowledge, and culture while expressing his sincere gratitude for the distinction.

In addition, he praised the nation’s enduring influence on education, science, and culture while considering his own educational journey as a graduate of Cairo University’s Faculty of Agriculture. Sheikh Sultan and Ahmed Hanno had cordial discussions during the event as he reflected on his time at university.

Sheikh Sultan emphasised the importance of cultural, literary, and theatrical pursuits as well as a range of libraries in moulding and enhancing the personality of his students and others.
