The 2nd Sharjah International Education Conference opened Monday with Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the University of Sharjah’s president and deputy ruler of Sharjah. The event, which was themed “AI and Beyond: Smart Education Unlocking Potential in the Digital Age,” was held at the University of Sharjah’s Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Al Razi Hall.
The UAE national anthem and a reading from the Holy Quran kicked off the conference’s opening ceremony, which was co-hosted by the American University of Sharjah and the University of Sharjah.
In his keynote address, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed thanked His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, for his visionary leadership in turning Sharjah into a centre of innovation and knowledge.
He also thanked the American University of Sharjah’s president, Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, for her ongoing efforts to improve education both domestically and abroad.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed greeted participants, who included specialists and academics from all over the world, and underlined the importance of academic institutions working together to organise conferences and exchange scientific information.
