According to figures released Monday by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), US automaker Tesla sold 68,280 electric cars built in China in October, a 5.3% decrease from the previous month.
Model 3 and Model Y car deliveries from China decreased 22.7% from the prior month.

With its Dynasty and Ocean series of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, Chinese rival BYD set another monthly record last month, increasing passenger car sales by 66.2% year over year to 500,526 units.

In a BYD filing, overseas shipments accounted for 6% of overall sales. After one-time layoffs in the previous quarter, the US EV company’s third-quarter earnings above forecasts, and it reported the first yearly increase in deliveries this year due to sales.

Tesla extended a zero-interest financing plan for certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, which it had first announced in China in July, by one month until the end of November in late October. Model 3 and Model Y car deliveries from China fell 22.7% from the prior month.
