As an addition to her ‘Basic Facts on Breast Cancer’, Dr Iza Roelle Maniego, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Prime Hospital (Dubai), whose speciality is Gynaecologic Surgery, stated: ‘A clinical phase one trial on a vaccine has already been completed with extremely good results. The responsible entity overseas requested volunteers for the clinical phase two experiment. There isn’t a vaccination yet.
These pertain to the Las Damas de Rizal-Dubai and the Northern Emirates’ (Las Damas-DNE) “Journey of Hope – A Breast Cancer Awareness Talk,” which was organised in association with the Philippine Consulate General-Dubai (PCGDXB).
Under Republic Act 646, which deals with the promotion of the teachings of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, on freedom, justice, enlightenment, humanitarianism, inclusivity, and diversity, the non-profit civil organisation Las Damas-DNE is a part of the Philippine government-acknowledged Knights of Rizal-DNE.
The organisation, in collaboration with the Knights of Rizal and Friends of Cancer Patients, has planned the “Walk of Hope” fashion show on the runway at the Millenium Airport Hotel in Dubai for October 20.
