To regulate traffic, avoid collisions, and enhance road safety, the Dubai Police’s General Directorate of Traffic described the kinds of infractions that the AI-based radars can detect, the amount of fines, the length of time a vehicle is impounded, and the black points.

This was revealed at a news conference hosted by the General Directorate of Traffic at the Dubai Police Headquarters’ Research and Development Center. Brigadier Mohammed Ali Karam, Director of the Traffic Technologies Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Qaidi, Director of the Dubai Land Patrols Department, and Brigadier Esam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Traffic, attended the conference.

The traffic infractions that are managed by technical traffic control systems were explained by the General Traffic Department. These infractions include exceeding the speed limit by more than 80 mph, for which the driver receives 23 black points, a Dhs 3,000 fine, and the car being confiscated for 60 days. If you exceed the speed limit by more than 60 km/h, you will be fined Dhs 2,000, have your car seized for 20 days, and receive 12 black points.

The fine is Dhs 1,000 for breaching the speed limit by 50 km/h. A fine of Dhs700 is imposed for exceeding the speed by more than 40 km/h, and Dhs600 is imposed for exceeding 30 km/h. Dhs300 is the monetary penalty for exceeding the speed by more than 20 km/h.
