The second edition of Investopia, the global investment platform launched by the UAE government in 2021, kicks off this Thursday (02/03), 2023 at the Hilton Hotel on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The event, which runs until the 3rd, will gather more than two thousand investors, government authorities, thought leaders, and businessmen from more than 40 countries.

In partnership with leading global leadership forum SALT, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and Crypto.com, the event will focus on the theme “Opportunities to Engage in Times of Change” and three sub-themes: Opportunities to Engage in the Economy of Today, the Future of Wealth of Nations and Opportunities for Growth in Times of Decarbonization.

According to Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and President of Investopia, the second edition of the conference is taking place at a pivotal time in world history, as markets undergo structural changes, global investment trends change, and technology advances rapidly in the fourth industrial revolution. “All of this while investing in a sustainable and low-carbon economy”, said Al Marri.

The Minister added that Investopia plays a vital role in the UAE’s efforts to provide a platform for business leaders and government officials worldwide to engage in global discussions, establish partnerships and integrate new technology and development trends into the business world. and the economy, promoting sustainable solutions for a better future.

SALT’s founder and president, Anthony Scaramucci, expressed gratitude to Investopedia for its partnership. For the first time since the first SALT forum in the MENA region in 2019, we look forward to bringing together investors, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from around the world in Abu Dhabi.

This year’s event will include 35 sessions and roundtables where more than 100 speakers, including investors, thought leaders, and decision-makers will discuss topics such as institutional asset allocation, AI, emerging markets, venture investing, digital assets, mobility, biotechnology, and much more.

Speakers at the conference will include government officials and pioneering leaders in technology, government, finance, engineering, sustainability, and more. A number of them are Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, CEO and Managing Director of Mubadala Group, Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, among others.

Sessions include: Uncovering the Potential of South-South Investments in Emerging Markets, Fintech Revolution, Growth Opportunities in Today’s Economy, Mobilizing New Economies, Reimagining Regional Economic Development through Finance, Food Security in Times of Climate Change, Trends in Family Wealth, among others.

It is also worth mentioning that 56% of Investopedia 2023 participants come from the UAE and 44% from abroad (over 100 nationalities). About 75% come from the private sector, 13% from the public sector, and 6% represent academia and students, plus 6% from other international organizations and diplomatic missions.

In addition, the event will host a series of closed round tables organized by the Business Council of UAE-Canada, Business Finland, and the Emirates News Agency (WAM), as well as investment meetings that bring together global leaders from financial institutions and non-financial to discuss areas of collaboration and investment opportunities.

Investopedia will also witness new partnerships and new projects in the healthcare and technology sector.
