The International Moon Day Conference will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2025. The announcement that Abu Dhabi would host the conference came as the United Arab Emirates celebrated its 53rd Eid Al Etihad and participated in Space Week in Luxembourg. The week is filled with events that bring together global specialists, businesspeople, legislators, and enthusiasts and visionaries, to talk about the most recent advancements in the area, the potential for space exploration in the future, and the potential effects of space on Earth.

Dr. Salem Bin Abdullah Al Wahshi, the Emirates Council for Work Relations Development CEO, represented the United Arab Emirates at the sessions. The UAE’s hosting was announced during a meeting today that was presided over by Dr.Nasr Al-Sahhaf, Chair of the United Nations International Moon Day.By resolution 54/68 of 6 December 1999, the General Assembly proclaimed World Space Week, to celebrate the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition.

The Board of Directors of the World Space Week Association chooses a theme each year in close collaboration with the UN Office of Outer Space Affairs. The theme offers World Space Week participants general guidelines about their programs’ subject matter. By employing a consistent theme around the globe, the theme enhances World Space Week’s impact on humanity.
