Residents and businesses in Dubai will have to pay up to 20% extra for health insurance, although the new, improved packages from the insurers include some significant advantages including dental, psychiatric, organ transplant, and dialysis.

These features, according to industry leaders, “make health insurance more comprehensive” for policyholders.

In response to recent regulatory revisions requiring extra benefits and changes to the table of benefits in health insurance plans, these new prices and benefits went into effect on January 1, 2025, as previously reported by Khaleej Times.

Some insurers have kept their current prices, while others have changed them, especially in the case of health insurance. The market strategy and claims experience of particular insurers play a major role in these variances. According to one insurer, the rates for basic and enhanced basic policies have increased by about 20%. He stated, “This appears to be a targeted adjustment rather than a trend impacting all insurers.

According to Moin ur Rehman, executive director of Unitrust Insurance Broker, the cost of health insurance for both basic and upgraded plans has increased.
