Numerous du subscribers complained about issues with their home Internet connection on Saturday. The telecom provider acknowledged that there was a technical problem with its broadband/Internet services in certain locations, and an hour after the outage peaked, it said that the problem had been “resolved.
The web tracker Downdetector.ae has over 7,600 outage reports at 12:17 p.m. About 20 minutes later, though, this number began to decline. Just 1,380 outage reports remained at 1:19 PM.
Kevin Bautista, a resident of Damac Hills 2, reported that around midday, all of their home streaming services—including YouTube and Netflix—were abruptly cut off. It dawned on me then that the issue was with our Internet. He said, “It hasn’t been functioning for more than forty minutes.”
In a post on X, Du acknowledged the issue and stated that “their team is working on restoring the service back to normal as soon as possible.
Then, approximately one hour after the fault was noticed, Du declared that it had been fixed on their official social media account.
