IGCF-2025-Sharjah

The 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2025), organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), will take place at Expo Centre Sharjah from September 10–11 with the World theme “Communication for Quality of Life.”

The forum this year will examine the ways in which strategic communication can promote resilience, well-being, and sustainable development in important domains. Keynote talks will provide insights to inspire policy, innovation, and practical actions that improve quality of life globally, ranging from reinventing food systems to using education to create a happiness economy and creating human-centered artificial intelligence.

William Kamkwamba, an engineer and inventor from Malawi, will give a keynote address titled “When Thought Becomes a Force for Change” in which he will discuss his experiences. In order to help his drought-stricken town, Kamkwamba built a wind turbine out of inexpensive materials. He will use this experience to illustrate how government communication may recognize and encourage grassroots ideas. He will talk about how resilience and food security are increased when communities are given the tools they need to develop context-specific solutions.
