We recently had the privilege of interviewing Khaled Al Rokban, a passionate leader and the CEO of Best Solutions Co. With a proven track record of driving excellence in the IT and service sector, Khaled is adept at Business Development. With his expertise gained over the years, Khaled Al Rokban navigates through complex business landscapes and identifies opportunities for innovation and growth.

We started the session by asking, “What inspired you to start or lead this business, and how has the journey surprised you?”

Khaled shared, “I was driven by a desire to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and practical solutions in everyday business operations. What surprised me most was how rapidly the demand for AI and automation evolved—and how essential adaptability has become to staying relevant.”

Advice to Younger Self

We further asked, “If you could go back to your first year in this role, what advice would you give yourself?”

Khaled Al Rokban replied, “Focus less on perfection and more on progress. I would remind myself that speed of execution, learning from small failures, and hiring the right team early on matter more than trying to get everything right from day one.”

Taking One Step at a Time

To understand more about Khaled Al Rokban’s approach towards solving problems that don’t have clear solutions, we requested him to share the same.

I break the problem down into smaller components, seek input from cross-functional teams, and experiment with fast, low-risk pilots. I also rely heavily on data and customer feedback to guide ambiguous decisions,” he explained.

Career-Defining Experiences

Intrigued to learn more about the experiences that changed the entire course of Khaled Al Rokban’s business, we inquired, “Can you share a unique experience that shaped the way you run your business?”

He mentioned, “Early on, we lost a major client due to a misalignment in expectations. That experience forced us to redesign our onboarding and communication process completely—and it turned into a major strength that helped us grow sustainably afterward.”

Turning Setbacks into Opportunities

Oftentimes, embracing unconventional ideas can lead to major breakthroughs for a business. We posed the question to Khaled Al Rokban, “⁠What’s the most unconventional idea you’ve implemented, and how did it turn out?”

We once implemented a ‘no meetings’ policy one day a week to encourage deep work. It sounded counterproductive, but it drastically improved productivity and gave the team time to think creatively. We’ve kept it ever since,” Khaled shared.

We also inquired, “Can you share a challenge you faced that led to a surprising breakthrough?”

He added, “During a major system outage, we had to rebuild part of our infrastructure from scratch under pressure. That challenge led us to develop our own internal AI-powered monitoring tool, which became a standout service we now offer to clients.”

A Client-Centred Approach

We asked Khaled to share his strategy for identifying and seizing the latest opportunities in his industry.

Khaled mentioned, “By staying close to our clients’ evolving needs and combining that insight with emerging tech trends. We also invest time in industry events and R&D, ensuring we’re not just reacting to change—but anticipating it.”

An efficient leader can take the business to new heights of success. So, we further asked ⁠Khaled, “If you had to describe your leadership style in one word, what would it be, and why?”

Empowering. I believe in giving people the tools, trust, and autonomy to lead initiatives themselves. It creates a culture of accountability and innovation,” Khaled reflected.

A Wave of Transformation

To gather Khaled Al Rokban’s perspective on transforming his field, we asked, “If you could change one thing about the industry you work in, what would it be?”

Khaled responded, “I’d change the mindset around short-term wins. Too often, businesses chase quick fixes instead of building long-term, scalable solutions. A more future-focused approach would raise the standard across the industry.”
