Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma, 22, from Thoubal in Manipur, was a member of the cabin crew of the Air India aircraft that was headed to London with more than 240 passengers. The plane crashed on Thursday shortly after it took off from the Ahmedabad airport.
According to Imphal’s local media, Sharma’s family and Manipur government authorities are attempting to gather her details because there was no word on her whereabouts. Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla both expressed shock and sadness over the jet disaster.
The sad and frightening event of an aeroplane catastrophe that happened on a journey from Ahmedabad to London has caused the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur to express his profound sadness. He has prayed to God for everyone hurt in this terrible accident to recover quickly,” the Raj Bhavan posted on its X account.
In an X post, Biren Singh expressed his sorrow and grief over the sad Air India aircraft tragedy that occurred this afternoon close to Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which was headed for London, had 242 passengers. The whole country is in shock at this tragic event. All individuals on board and their families are in my prayers and thoughts at this unbelievably trying time.
