Following a four-day pause, air service between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates has resumed, with flights now departing from airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah to various locations in Pakistan. According to UAE aviation officials, Major Emirates airports have resumed operations for flights to Pakistan.
As tensions with India decreased after a ceasefire deal, Pakistan had fully reopened its airspace for all kinds of planes. Since India launched missiles into Pakistan on Wednesday, sparking a sequence of confrontations, the two neighbouring countries have repeatedly blocked their airspace.
According to the Pakistan Airport Authority (paa), the airspace has been fully reopened for all kinds of flights. The PAA has also released a new notice to airmen (NOTAM). According to a PAA spokesperson, “all airports in the country are available for normal flight operations,” For the most recent flight schedule, he advised travellers to get in touch with the airline.
Normalisation of flight operations is anticipated to take some time, though, as passenger planes and other equipment were moved to secure areas as a precaution during the heightening tensions between India and Pakistan. According to officials, the planes are being returned to the operational region for standard operations.
With the restoration of the airspace, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has now started flying again.
