Following US-led discussions, India and Pakistan agreed to a truce on Saturday, ending the most serious military standoff between the nuclear-armed rivals in decades. The ceasefire agreement comes after weeks of battles, missile and drone attacks across their borders, sparked by a shooting slaughter of tourists last month that India blames on Pakistan, which denies the claim. Dozens of people have been slain by both sides.

The initial word of the peace came from US President Donald Trump, who announced on his Truth Social platform that India and Pakistan had agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both countries for employing common sense and great intelligence. Thank you for paying attention to this topic!”

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, declared the ceasefire on Geo News. He stated that Saudi Arabia and Turkey had a crucial role in enabling the transaction. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that the heads of military operations from both nations spoke on Saturday afternoon.

“It was decided that both sides would cease all fire and military activity on land, in the air, and at sea. Instructions have been issued on both sides to carry out this understanding.” Misri said the senior military leaders will speak again on May 12.
