The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) announced the completion of the first phase of the Al Hudaiba gas and condensate field development project. This milestone more than doubles the corporation’s current gas output and strengthens the Emirate of Sharjah’s long-term energy security. Al Hudaiba was discovered northeast of the Sajaa gas field in May 2024 and went from discovery to production in record time with a rapid evaluation and development program. SNOC achieved first gas production in less than one year since the field discovery.

The first phase included all the essentials such as drilling appraisal wells, data analysis, construction of gas-gathering facilities, laying of pipelines and completion of commissioning. SNOC has already started its next development phase and is working to ramp up production by 2027. The field is scheduled to be producing at stable rates by 2028 and will make a major contribution to the Emirate’s future energy demand.

Al Hudaiba is one of Sharjah’s most important gas development projects in recent years and a key component of the corporation’s long-term growth strategy, said Khamis Al Mazrouei, SNOC’s CEO.

Completing the first phase and bringing the field on stream in record time illustrates SNOC’s capacity to move rapidly from discovery to implementation while reacting to the Emirate’s expanding energy needs, he said. The next stage of development would further strengthen the field’s role in boosting energy security and delivering long-term value to Sharjah.
