The inaugural Middle East edition of the Arabian Chatbot & Agentic AI Summit kicked off Monday at ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi, bringing together technology and artificial intelligence experts, government representatives and industry professionals to discuss advances in AI applications and their potential to improve services and operational efficiency.
The conference included discussions on agentic AI (systems that can do multi-step tasks), generative AI, chatbots and speech technologies and how they would affect workplaces, digital services and customer experiences.
Discussions also covered AI governance, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, ethics and regulatory compliance, as well as practical applications across economic sectors. Participants also discussed the move from AI experimentation to big scale deployment, including issues around system integration, stability, security and oversight by humans.
Dr Anas Najdawi, Associate Professor of Digital Business at Abu Dhabi University and Director of the Dubai Campus, underlined the need to establish digital sovereignty by developing local technologies, cultivating national knowledge, and investing in digital infrastructure.
“The UAE is leading in digital sovereignty and AI through policies and strategies that have improved its regional and global position, in addition to developing homegrown AI models capable of understanding Arabic language and culture,” Najdawi told the Emirates News Agency.
