The first phase of Etihad Rail’s passenger train services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah stations will start on June 30. On September 30, 2026, the passenger rail network will officially open. The statement was made during the opening of the new passenger rail station in Mohammed bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Passenger train services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah will start operating in preliminary form. The trip will take one hour and forty-five minutes. Along with the stations in the Al Dhafra region, which will open on December 30, 2026, Dubai and Al Dhaid stations will open on September 30, 2026. On March 30, 2027, the passenger train will arrive in Sharjah station to finish its journey. Sheikh Khaled was present at the announcement of the passenger rail network’s September 30, 2026, launch as well as the opening of the Abu Dhabi station.

He received a briefing on information management systems, operational preparedness protocols, and the station’s most notable facilities and equipment. He heard a thorough explanation of the station’s sophisticated infrastructure, plans for its future growth and capacity expansion, systems to guarantee smooth passenger flow during peak hours, and other clever services and solutions.
