Kuwait claims that at least one person was murdered and numerous others were injured in an Iranian attack on its international airport. The health ministry reported that at least 63 people were injured in the Iranian attack on Kuwait’s airport on Wednesday, while authorities had previously reported one fatality. According to Abdullah al-Sanad, a spokesman for the health ministry, 25 ambulances were sent to Kuwait International Airport, and “63 injured individuals were received and distributed among hospitals… This includes serious injuries… including head wounds, cerebral hemorrhages, amputations and injuries resulting from explosions.”

An Indian person died at the airport in Kuwait, an airport source informed AFP. The U.S. attacks on an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and a telecommunications tower on Qeshm Island were denounced by Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, claiming they breached international law and a ceasefire agreement.

Kuwait International Airport is guarded by Kuwaiti security personnel.  The ministry said that Kuwait and Bahrain were “directly and clearly responsible” for the strikes and that U.S. military activities against Iran had been supported by their facilities and territories. Tehran declared that it would use every tool at its disposal to retaliate, including going after the source of any future strikes, and that it reserved the right to self-defense.
