According to the most recent Bloomberg Billionaires Index, billionaire entrepreneur Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has surpassed Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani to become Asia’s richest person. Gautam Adani became the 19th richest person in the world with a net worth of $92.6 billion, while Mukesh Ambani fell to the 20th spot with a net worth of $90.8 billion. In the midst of growing geopolitical tensions and market volatility in 2026, the shuffle at the top emphasizes the continued unpredictability in global wealth rankings.

Gautam Adani’s net worth increased by over $3.56 billion in a single day as a result of the strong increase in Adani Group stocks during Thursday’s stock market session, which outperformed benchmark indices. With a net worth of $656 billion, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, continues to lead the list globally, followed by Larry Page, a co-founder of Google, with $286 billion. Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Larry Ellison of Oracle, Michael Dell of Dell Technologies, Jensen Huang of Nvidia, and Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, are among the other names in the top ten.

Remarkably, the net worth of seven of the top 20 richest people in the world has decreased thus far in 2026. Arnault has also had the worst decline, losing $44 billion throughout that time. Steve Ballmer, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Amancio Ortega are among the other billionaires that have seen a notable decline in their wealth.
