The Director General of the Family Care Authority (FCA), Salama Al Ameemi, emphasized the significance of bolstering family support networks in order to protect the mental health of adolescents on the occasion of World Teen Mental Wellness Day. World Teen Mental Health Day, according to Salama, “highlights a critical stage in our children’s development—when identity forms and ambitions grow, but psychological and social challenges intensify.” Adolescent mental health is a shared family and community duty, according to the Family Care Authority.

“FCA places families as the first line of defense for adolescent wellbeing by providing integrated psychosocial support services, family counseling, and awareness programs that enable families to comprehend their teen’s needs, encourage open communication, and create safe and trusting environments.” During the Year of the Family and on this World Teen Mental Health Day, FCA reaffirms its unwavering dedication to helping families and adolescents. “Investing in young people now creates resilient generations later,” she continued.

The FCA in Abu Dhabi is committed to social sector governance and regulation, with a particular focus on enabling families to become self-sufficient. The Abu Dhabi government has directed the FCA, an affiliate of the Department of Community Development, to offer families around the emirate all-encompassing and proactive help. The FCA works with strategic partners to provide integrated services, such as counseling, inclusion and empowerment, Safe Shelter, Awareness and Community Outreach, and Foster Family services, all while maintaining a strong commitment to confidentiality.
