We started the interview, “Could you start by telling us about your professional journey and the inspiration behind jumping into this industry?”
Zubair shared, “My professional journey spans over four decades and began with a strong foundation in finance, governance, and advisory services at Deloitte and PwC in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Over time, I moved into senior leadership and entrepreneurial roles across North America, the Middle East, Europe, and South Asia, working across automotive, services, and technology sectors.
My inspiration for entering private equity and advisory work came from a desire to partner closely with founders and help them scale ideas into sustainable, well-governed businesses. This led to the founding of ThinkVentures, where I now combine capital, mentorship, and strategic oversight to support innovative companies globally.”

“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that strong teams and good governance are more critical than ideas alone. He reflected, “A major challenge in starting a business or career is managing uncertainty and limited resources, especially in the early stages. I overcame this by focusing on strong fundamentals such as financial discipline, governance, and continuous learning, while surrounding myself with the right mentors and partners. Resilience and adaptability have been essential in turning challenges into opportunities for growth.”
