In line with directives from astute leadership emphasising the importance of creating intelligent, adaptable, and sustainable infrastructure to enable smoother traffic flow, support comprehensive development, and improve quality of life, the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 unveiled plans to reduce traffic congestion. The three primary roadways connecting the emirates are being expanded, and a new national highway is being built to link them.

By adding six lanes three in each direction Al Ittihad Road’s capacity will be increased by 60% to a total of 12 lanes.
