Last night, hundreds of alumni from all over the world came “home” for the Alumni Summit 2025 at Thumbay Medicity, Ajman, bringing Gulf Medical University, founded by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, under one roof.

The occasion served as a potent reminder of the extent to which GMU alumni had advanced professionally, geographically, and in influencing the healthcare environment in the area. The university administration greeted everyone warmly at the start of the evening, establishing a mood of introspection, pride, and rekindled connection.

Gulf Medical University’s Chancellor, Prof. Manda Venkatramana, discussed the university’s growing influence among its graduates and its expanding global reach. In order to ensure that alumni stay in touch even after graduation, he emphasized GMU’s continuous efforts to improve cooperation, mentoring, and worldwide participation.

Three panel discussions were included in the summit, along with an emotional reunion with GMU’s first two batches. Alumni talked about their job paths, the university’s early years, and how GMU’s education has shaped their careers to this day. The unveiling of the 27 GMU ICON Book, which honored notable graduates and marked the conclusion of 27 years at GMU, was a major highlight of the event.
