The announcement of a historic joint venture between Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE National Railway Network, and Keolis, a globally recognized leader in passenger transport, to launch its passenger rail services in the UAE was attended by Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs. This collaboration represents a critical turning point in Etihad Rail’s objective to provide top-notch rail services that will revolutionize national travel.
With the help of Etihad Rail’s top-notch infrastructure and Keolis’ global experience and track record in 13 countries, this collaboration aims to establish a new benchmark for the passenger experience. In 2026, passenger services will begin, which will be a major turning point in both the history of the UAE’s railway network and Etihad train’s vision for contemporary, effective, and customer-focused train travel.
With the backing of Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of Etihad Rail, the announcement was made during Global Rail 2025, which was hosted in Abu Dhabi under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
