US TV networks predicted on Saturday that Donald Trump had won Arizona in this week’s US presidential election, completing the Republican’s sweep of all seven swing states.

CNN and NBC predicted that Trump had won 11 electoral votes after four days of counting in the heavily Hispanic southwest state, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.

In 2020, outgoing President Joe Biden defeated Trump in Arizona with a close but significant victory, ending Trump’s first term in power.

The defeated Democratic Party has been rocked by the scope and intensity of Trump’s comeback, which also saw the real estate magnate win the popular vote by a margin of about four million votes.

Thanks to the backing of white working-class voters and a sizable portion of Hispanic voters, the Republicans have already taken back control of the Senate and appear poised to maintain a majority in the House of Representatives.

With 218 votes required for a majority in the lower house, CNN has predicted Republican victory for 213 House seats. According to the networks, Democrats own 205 seats, but top party officials are still hoping for a narrow win that would drastically limit Trump’s authority.
