Dr. Menashe (John) Cohen | Redefining International Arbitration Through Legal Expertise, Business Leadership and Innovation

Top 10 Visionary Leaders - Dr. Menashe (John) Cohen

Dr. Menashe (John) Cohen is an international arbitrator, legal scholar, and business leader whose work brings together legal knowledge, business experience, and a practical understanding of dispute resolution. Rather than looking at arbitration only through a legal lens, he considers the commercial realities behind complex disputes and the decisions that led to them.

His business perspective comes from years of entrepreneurship and management. Cohen founded and built Israel’s leading legal education and professional training group, developing it into a major organization serving generations of lawyers and legal professionals. Building companies, managing teams, and making difficult commercial decisions gave him an understanding of business that now informs his work as an arbitrator.

His legal and academic career is equally distinguished. A lawyer and legal scholar with a PhD in Law, Cohen has taught generations of law students and lawyers and regularly lectures on arbitration, contracts, civil procedure, and dispute resolution. His experience allows him to approach a dispute as more than a legal question. He looks at the wider business circumstances and the practical consequences of the outcome.

Today, Cohen serves as President of the Israeli Institute of Commercial Arbitration (IICA), Israel’s central arbitration institution. During his leadership, the IICA has expanded its international activity, introduced new arbitration mechanisms and specialized professional divisions, and developed procedures designed around the needs of businesses and legal counsel.

For Cohen, effective arbitration requires more than a strong understanding of the law. It requires efficiency, sound judgment, commercial awareness, and a clear understanding of the dispute itself. Technology also has a place in modern arbitration, provided it serves the process rather than complicates it.

His work is increasingly connected to the international arbitration community, with professional relationships extending across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He brings to these relationships the same practical outlook that has shaped his career.

At the heart of Dr. Cohen’s approach is a straightforward belief: an arbitrator should understand the transaction, the industry, and the business reality behind a dispute. Legal expertise provides the foundation, but experience and judgment help turn that expertise into a fair, efficient, and credible resolution.

Fariza Javed’s Vision to Drive Business Success

fariza jawed - top 10 visionary leaders

In today’s dynamic business world, building a business is just the beginning; scaling it is what decides its success. And leaders like Fariza Javed bring the required leadership and vision needed to ensure the same.

As the co-founder of Brandscaling and creator of Decision Intelligence, she brings 24 years of experience across property, retail, distribution, beauty, investments, startups, logistics, branding, patents, marketing, SaaS and innovation. Starting her entrepreneurial career at 23 by founding Property People, Fariza built a letting agency while raising young children.

Over the two decades that followed, she launched multiple brands into major UK retailers including Harrods, Selfridges, Boots, TK Maxx, ASOS, Sephora, and River Island. Fariza is also a Forbes Business Council member, a business and mindset expert, with a background in Anatomy and Physiology.

In March 2024, Fariza co-founded Brandscaling alongside Hanif Khan, after the pair had each spent over two decades building and scaling ventures. She created the Human Decision Intelligence Hypothesis, The Architect & Alchemist Decision Loop, and the E-DNA Assessment framework, diagnostic tools that map an entrepreneur’s internal decision-making architecture, helping them understand how to better make decisions, as one size doesn’t fit all.

Within the Brandscaling mastermind and collaboration club, Fariza works directly with entrepreneurs navigating the gap between what they know and what they can consistently execute, identifying decision-loop instability rather than treating it as only a mindset or strategy problem. Her approach is built on the premise that clarity returns through awareness, not more tactics, and that entrepreneurs often try to make decisions not suited to how they are internally wired, and hence end up making bad decisions.

Fariza is positioned as the Alchemist of Decision Intelligence: the diagnostic force behind making invisible decision collapse visible, measurable, and trainable for entrepreneurs ready to scale.

Through her ventures and leadership in this field, Fariza Javed is not just helping businesses grow faster, she is empowering them to scale smarter.

Dr. Wessam Abdellatif | Designing Spaces That Feel Like They Belong

dr wessam abdellatif

A well-designed space does more than look refined. It shapes how people move, interact and experience their surroundings. For Dr. Wessam Abdellatif, this relationship between space and human experience sits at the centre of her work, which spans interiors, hospitality, residential design and masterplanning.

Wessam’s journey into design began in the real estate sector in the late 1990s. Working close to the built environment gave her an early understanding of how space, function and planning come together. She eventually recognised that design was where her interests truly lay and moved fully into the creative field, building an international career that would take her to Canada before bringing her expertise back to Egypt.

Her international experience has given her a perspective that combines creative thinking with practical understanding. Alongside her work in design and construction, she pursued advanced academic training in the field, earning a Master’s and PhD in Interior Design from the UK. For Wessam, however, education is not separate from practice. It has strengthened the way she approaches space, from the initial concept and spatial strategy through to visualisation and execution.

Today, her work focuses on creating modern, elegant and functional environments with a strong sense of identity. She looks closely at context, materiality, climate and the people who will ultimately experience a space. Through private commissions and international competitions, she brings together architectural research, storytelling, spatial planning and high-quality 3D visualisation, allowing clients to understand not only what a finished space will look like, but how it can work.

As Co-Founder of WS Design House and Head of Design at Rumble Construction, Wessam works across both creative direction and the realities of bringing ideas to life. Her approach extends beyond decoration. Space planning, concept development, materials, proportions, visualisation and execution are treated as connected parts of the same design process. This allows her to move from an initial idea to a complete design solution without losing sight of either aesthetics or function.

There is also a strong human element to the way she views interiors. A home, hospitality environment or commercial space cannot be reduced to furniture, finishes and visual appeal. It needs to respond to the people using it. That belief has shaped Wessam’s aim to introduce a more thoughtful, human-centred approach to interior spaces in Egypt and beyond.

Her work reflects a balance between imagination and practical knowledge. The experience she gained through real estate, construction, international work and advanced design education allows her to approach projects from more than one perspective. She can consider the story a space needs to tell while also asking how it will function once that story becomes reality.

For Wessam, the future of interior design lies in spaces that feel purposeful rather than simply polished. The strongest environments are those where architecture, material, light, function and human experience come together naturally. Her work continues to explore that idea, creating spaces that are not only designed to be seen, but designed to be lived.

Amriten Chatterjee | Advancing UC&C Through Smarter Workspace Solutions

Amriten Chatterjee - top 10 visionary leaders

The way people communicate and collaborate at work is changing. As organizations move between offices, meeting rooms, personal workspaces, and hybrid environments, technology has become an important part of creating a connected workplace. For Amriten Chatterjee, this evolution is about understanding how technology, people, and business objectives can work together.

A seasoned Unified Communications & Collaboration (UC&C) professional with more than 20 years of experience across IT, distribution, and technology, Chatterjee has built his career around collaboration technologies, channel ecosystems, and the evolving workplace. With experience across West Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent, his expertise spans UC&C hardware, applications, visual collaboration, personal workspace solutions, and hybrid-work environments.

His approach goes beyond introducing technology. He focuses on understanding how people work, communicate, and collaborate, then aligning solutions with those needs. His experience across sales, marketing, operations, business development, and channel management has also given him a strong commercial perspective, with a focus on creating value for customers and partners.

Chatterjee’s expertise in channel and distribution management has been shaped by years of working with vendors, distributors, resellers, enterprise customers, and technology partners. Before joining ASBIS Middle East, he worked with several organizations, including startups across the Middle East and India, gaining experience across unified communications, security, networking, and different stages of business development.

A strong focus on Return on Investment sits at the centre of his business philosophy. Rather than looking at technology in isolation, he considers how solutions can create measurable value while supporting sustainable business models and stronger partner relationships.

As an advocate of Personal Workspace Solutions (PWS), Chatterjee believes that the modern collaboration experience extends beyond the traditional meeting room. From an individual’s desk to a sophisticated boardroom, every workspace needs to support seamless communication, productivity, and engagement.

His experience encompasses leading technology brands such as Logitech, Jabra, Insta360, MAXHUB, HP Poly, Barco, Samsung, and LG, as well as platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Workspace. This combination of hardware and application expertise allows him to connect technology vendors, channel partners, IT teams, and end users while considering functionality, interoperability, user experience, and business requirements.

At ASBIS Middle East, Chatterjee has worked with partners and customers on workplace roadmaps connecting personal setups with meeting spaces and broader hybrid-work environments. His perspective covers technology selection, procurement, piloting, deployment, adoption, training, and lifecycle management. He also champions integrated solutions that bring together devices, platforms, services, and user enablement rather than treating each component as an isolated purchase.

His UC&C journey also includes founding the vendor-agnostic consultancy Video Conferencing UAE and publishing Amriten Speaks UC, a bi-weekly newsletter covering new product reviews, technology reviews, and the nuances of personal and collaborative workspaces.

Today, his expertise lies at the intersection of UC&C technology, applications, workspace design, channel development, and customer outcomes. His work reflects a continued focus on building stronger partner ecosystems and creating technology solutions that make practical sense for businesses and the people they serve.

For Chatterjee, the future of collaboration is not defined solely by meeting rooms, but by a connected ecosystem in which every workspace enables people to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively, wherever they are.

Somjat Maksomboon | Making Technology Work for the Business

Somjat - top 10 visionary leaders

Somjat Maksomboon has spent close to two decades in technology, and most of what he has learned comes down to a single observation: the hard part is rarely the technology itself. The harder questions are usually about direction, ownership, readiness and whether a business understands what it is trying to achieve before investing in another system.

As Founder and Managing Director of Novaris Business Solutions, a Bangkok-based consultancy working with companies across Southeast Asia, he has built a practice around those questions rather than around products.

Trained as a computer engineer, Somjat moved fairly early from building systems to deciding which ones a business should own. At director level, he was responsible for the wider technology landscape, from infrastructure and cloud to security, core business systems and analytics, along with the budgets behind them. He advised a chief executive and board on technology investment, chaired the IT steering committee and was accountable when something went wrong at an inconvenient hour. That experience gave him a practical understanding of what sits between a technology strategy on paper and a system that works.

It also shaped how he approaches consulting today. Engagements typically begin with an assessment of where the business stands rather than a product recommendation. What are people doing day to day, and which decisions are being made without reliable information? From there, Somjat develops a roadmap based on business priorities and value, before turning to the question of which technology should support it.

Having run enterprise resource planning, warehouse and workflow systems as the owner rather than the implementer, he tends to ask vendors specific questions. He understands that implementation is not simply about selecting a platform. It involves people, processes, data, accountability and the ability of an organisation to adopt what has been built.

“Most transformation projects do not fail because the technology was wrong,” he says. “They slow down because the direction was unclear, nobody owned the outcome, or the business was not ready. Those are leadership questions, and they are easier to answer before anything is installed.”

He founded Novaris to make this kind of thinking accessible to companies that may not have the resources or the need for a technology director on the payroll. The firm works with small and mid-sized businesses across Southeast Asia to help them move from manual operations towards scalable digital capabilities. Its work spans IT strategy and advisory, digital transformation, e-commerce, digital operations, business intelligence, automation and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and compliance, and managed services.

Beyond advice, Novaris stays with clients through implementation, dashboards, automation and ongoing support, connecting technology decisions to everyday operations. Through a network of technology partners across the Gulf, Southeast Asia and Europe, Somjat can also approach each engagement based on the problem to be solved rather than starting with a fixed catalogue of products.

In 2026 he served on the judging panel of the Cyber Security Awards in the United Kingdom as an Asia-Pacific representative, assessing entries from leading international security firms on innovation, business impact and technical merit.

Alongside his professional work, Somjat continues to invest in his own education. He holds a professional MBA with a double major in management information systems and strategy and has accumulated more than 150 professional certifications. The breadth of his training reflects the same approach he brings to his clients: technology changes quickly, so understanding how it connects to business has to remain a continuous process.

For Somjat, the measure of a technology project is not how impressive it looks at launch. His question is simple. A year after the project ends, is the client still using it?

Sybil Hofmann | Redefining What Hospitality Education Can Create

sybil hoffman - top 10 visionary leaders

For Sybil Hofmann, hospitality education has always been about more than what happens inside a classroom. For nearly four decades, she has worked to ensure that students understand not only what they learn, but how that knowledge translates into the realities of the hospitality industry.

In 1987, Hofmann co-founded Swiss Alpine Center with a clear vision: bring together academic learning and hands-on professional experience to prepare the next generation of hospitality leaders. What began in Greece has since grown into an international education community, welcoming students from more than 70 countries and preparing graduates for careers across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania.

As Co-Founder and President of International Programs, Hofmann has continued to build strong connections between education and industry. Her work has included leadership roles with I-CHRIE and EUHOFA International, serving as an Ambassador for the Institute of Hospitality in Europe, and helping bring HSMAI Europe to Greece.

Her approach has remained consistent. She believes students should learn from people who understand the industry firsthand, gain meaningful practical experience and build relationships that continue long after graduation.

That philosophy is particularly relevant as hospitality enters a new era shaped by luxury experiences, sustainability, technology and changing expectations of leadership. Hofmann has championed the MSc in Luxury Hospitality, Sustainability and Branding, bringing academics and senior industry practitioners together to prepare professionals for these evolving demands.

Her own international journey has shaped much of this perspective. Born in Lebanon to a Lebanese father and German mother, she studied and worked in London before experiences in Switzerland and Iraq eventually led her to Greece, where she built Swiss Alpine Center alongside her husband and co-founder, Eric Hofmann.

She has also contributed to the field as co-author of a textbook on International Human Resources Management in the Hospitality Industry, reflecting her long-standing interest in developing the people behind hospitality.

Almost 40 years after founding Swiss Alpine Center, Hofmann remains focused on what comes next. For her, successful education is not measured only by certificates or qualifications, but by the people those opportunities help create.

Her philosophy can perhaps be summed up in one thought: the greatest achievement of a teacher is when a former student grows into someone from whom the teacher can learn.

Didier Kassas | The Invisible Infrastructure Behind the World’s Biggest Events

Top 10 Visionary Leaders Shaping Business

When millions of people watch a World Cup match, a Formula 1 race or a major international event, they see the spectacle. Didier Kassas sees what makes that spectacle possible: the systems controlling who gets in, where they can go and when.

Based in Dubai, Kassas is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of TT-Sec Global, an accreditation and access control provider working behind some of the world’s most closely watched events. With a background in event management and hospitality, he approaches accreditation from a practical perspective, focusing on the people moving through a venue as much as the technology managing them.

Over the past decade, Kassas has been involved in the strategy and accreditation of high-risk events including the FIFA Club World Cup, Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix and IDEX exhibitions. His experience has helped TT-Sec Global develop systems designed to balance security, efficiency and the experience of everyone using a venue.

The company is the official accreditation provider of CONCACAF for its competitions between 2023 and 2027. It has also handled accreditation for major events including the 2024 African Games in Ghana and the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany. In Saudi Arabia, its systems have supported accreditation across more than 50 venues for Riyadh Season, while Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai uses the technology across more than 400 events.

To date, TT-Sec Global has delivered its services across 17 countries and registered, vetted and monitored more than 500,000 individuals.

For Kassas, however, scale is not the only measure of success. His leadership is guided by a straightforward principle: the client’s best interest comes first. The aim is for accreditation to work so smoothly that guests barely notice it, while organisers retain the security and control they need.

A partnership with global systems integrator ATOS, announced at the World Football Summit in Riyadh, further expanded the company’s technology ambitions.

Today, Kassas is helping steer TT-Sec Global beyond traditional sports accreditation. Its expertise is increasingly being applied across venues, education, government, oil and gas facilities and film sets.

His ambition is clear: to build TT-Sec Global into a leading technology solutions provider in the Middle East, while continuing to solve a problem that is often invisible to the public but essential to every major event — making sure the right people are in the right place, at the right time.

Hamza Afzal | Turning Product Launches into Measurable Growth

hamza-afzal-top-10-marketing-leaders (3) (2)

Hamza Afzal’s journey in marketing began in 2013 as a junior SEO specialist. Starting with the fundamentals gave him a practical understanding of how products are discovered, how brands earn attention and what makes an audience take notice. Over time, that experience shaped a broader approach to marketing built around one simple idea: visibility matters when it leads somewhere.

Today, as Founder of SaaS Marketing Gurus, Hamza works with companies looking to turn their products into sustainable growth. His work brings together product positioning, launch strategy, search visibility, paid campaigns and email marketing, with a focus on connecting the right product with the right audience.

Product launches have become one of his strongest areas of expertise. He has supported more than 200 product owners with launches, particularly on platforms such as Product Hunt, helping founders approach each launch with clearer positioning, careful timing and structured execution.

His experience also extends to marketplaces such as AppSumo, where he has helped founders strengthen their branding and work towards stronger revenue outcomes. Beyond individual campaigns, Hamza has managed the online reputation of more than 30 companies, giving him a deeper understanding of how perception, consistency and trust influence long-term growth.

What stands out in his approach is its simplicity. Hamza believes marketing strategies should be clear enough to execute and practical enough to fit the realities of a business. Rather than relying on unnecessary complexity, he works closely with founders to understand their goals and build strategies around what they actually need.

His perspective continues to develop beyond his professional work. While pursuing further studies in Germany, Hamza is broadening his understanding of global markets and bringing new perspectives into the way he approaches marketing.

For him, effective marketing is not about creating the most noise. It is about understanding the product, finding the right audience and building a consistent path between the two.

From his early days in SEO to leading product launches for SaaS companies, Hamza Afzal has built his career around making that connection clearer — and turning attention into results that businesses can measure.

Jessica Moini Elom | Redefining What Success Looks Like

Top 10 Visionary Leaders Shaping Business

Jessica Moini Elom knows what professional success looks like from the inside. Before becoming a coach and founder, she spent nearly a decade in digital marketing, working in a fast-paced corporate environment and eventually serving as Commercial Director at a global ad tech company.

The career looked successful on paper. But behind the targets, deals and growing responsibilities, Jessica began noticing something that stayed with her. Many high-performing professionals were achieving more while feeling increasingly overwhelmed, disconnected and unable to find balance.

That realisation changed the direction of her career.

Rather than continuing to measure success only through professional achievement, Jessica chose to explore what it could look like when performance and personal well-being existed together. She began working with professionals who wanted to grow without allowing work to consume every part of their lives.

In 2023, she was recognised among the “30 Under 30 Faces to Watch.” That same year, she launched The Kindness Catalog, built around a simple belief: ambition should not require people to sacrifice their well-being.

Through coaching, workshops and digital programmes, Jessica works with founders, leaders and professionals on the challenges that often sit behind outward success. Stress, self-doubt, difficulty setting boundaries and patterns that can affect both professional performance and personal relationships.

Her approach combines structured coaching with emotional awareness. Trained at the Tony Robbins and Chloe Madanes coaching school and certified in NLP, she encourages clients to look closely at the habits and beliefs shaping their decisions.

For Jessica, meaningful change does not always come from making dramatic decisions. Sometimes it starts with setting a boundary, making space to rest, rebuilding confidence or simply recognising that constantly being busy is not the same as moving forward.

Her own transition has given her a different perspective on leadership. She believes that understanding yourself is an important part of understanding how to lead others. When people become more aware of their emotions, patterns and priorities, they can make clearer decisions and create healthier ways of working.

Today, Jessica continues to support professionals across industries who want to rethink the relationship between achievement and well-being. Her message is simple but increasingly relevant: success does not have to come at the cost of peace.

For Jessica Moini Elom, redefining success is not about lowering ambition. It is about building a life where ambition has room to exist alongside balance, relationships and the space to simply be well.
