
His Majesty In his role as the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s vice president and prime minister, issued decree no. 31 for 2025 pertaining to marriage leave for workers of the Government of Dubai.
The decree aims to achieve a balance between the demands of personal life and employment obligations and duties, as well as to reinforce the psychological and familial stability ingredients and enhance the elements of family life success. The directive applies to Emirati workers in government agencies and in the authorities that oversee free zones and special development zones, such as the Dubai International Financial Center.
It also protects Emirati military troops in the emirate and Emirati members of the judiciary. Any other categories decided by the Executive Council chairman in this respect are likewise included in the decree’s scope of applicability.
The order states that the employee is entitled to ten working days of fully compensated marital leave. Additionally, the order permits the employee to combine his marital leave with any other leave to which he is entitled under the laws governing his employer’s human resources issues.
