Phase II of the Marine Transport Station Waiting Area Upgrade Project has been finished by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Fahidi, Bluewaters, Baniyas, and Al Seef were the five stations included in the phase. The project contributes to Dubai’s position as a top global mobility destination by supporting the continuous growth of maritime transport infrastructure and service quality.

In order to express Dubai’s cultural character and meet the demands of modern urban growth, Phase II embraced design principles influenced by the emirate’s marine tradition. In keeping with Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy, the improvements promote customers’ physical, mental, and social well-being by offering improved comfort, safety, and well designed spatial organization. Phase I, which was finished last year and covered five stations—Marina Promenade, Marina Terrace, Marina Walk, Marina Mall Marine Transport Station North, and Marina Mall Marine Transport Station South—and had good customer satisfaction ratings, is expanded upon in this phase.

“The selection of Phase II stations was based on customer satisfaction assessments,” stated Khalaf Belghuzooz Al Zarooni, Director of Marine Transport at Public Transport Agency, RTA. The stations had air conditioning, more seats, longer waiting rooms, and entrances and exits that catered to women and senior residents.
