In a strategic relationship with the Arab League, the UAE government has extended the Arab Government Excellence Award for a further four years, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and the UAE’s vice president and prime minister. The goal of the award is to support and encourage improved performance leadership in the public sector of the area.

On the last day of the event, Mohammad Al Gergawi, the UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit (WGS), and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, signed the agreement. Ahmed Aboul Gheit underlined the award’s importance as a source of inspiration and a driving force behind improving the effectiveness of the Arab administration.

He emphasised its function in promoting creative work methods to reach the greatest possible levels of efficacy and productivity. Additionally, the award inspires governments to embrace competition, think creatively, and pursue greatness, according to Aboul Gheit.

Al Gergawi claimed that the Arab Government Excellence Award is in line with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s directives to encourage Arab governments and leaders of the public sector to step up their efforts in the direction of innovation and to create best practices that formalise excellence and high-quality performance.
