According to Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, the deputy ruler of Sharjah and chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the Iran national team won the six-a-side football event and Suhaila Suburb Council won the beach volleyball competition at the Sharjah Ramadan Sports event. The event was held on Sunday night at Sharjah’s Al Heera Beach.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed was present at the exciting football match between the Iranian and Indonesian national teams. Iran prevailed by a narrow 3-2 margin. A sizable crowd of fervent supporters from both clubs attended the fiercely fought game.
During the third-place playoff, the UAE national team defeated Oman 4-1 in a penalty shootout to secure third place.
Suhaila Suburb Council defeated Muwailih Suburb Council in straight sets to win the beach volleyball championship. Six Sharjah councils—Al Raqa, Wasit, Muwailih, Suhaila, Al Rahmaniyah, and Mughaidir—participated in the competition.
Sheikh Sultan also saw a number of fan interaction events, such as sack races and tug-of-war, that were held in conjunction with the competition. Both adults and children participated in these engaging activities, which added to the tournament’s joyous mood.
