The Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, commended Sharjah Media City Shams for its continuous improvement in key performance metrics. This growth includes an 81.6% increase in licence renewals between 2022 and 2025, as well as an increase in the number of active companies to over 23,000, which are owned by individuals from 171 different nationalities. This indicates that Shams is able to provide a first-rate business and creative environment within an integrated ecosystem.

“The accomplishments of Sharjah Media City (Shams) today are a continuation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who has always placed people, knowledge, and culture at the core of the Emirate’s development,” said His Highness. These metrics, in our opinion, demonstrate Sharjah’s capacity to develop a creative and economic climate that draws talent, ideas, and investments from around the globe and transforms them into opportunities and long-term value.

His Highness asserts that the ability of Shams to foster an integrated community of creatives, entrepreneurs, and businesses and to provide an environment that fosters their expansion, innovation, and access to new markets should be used to determine its strength rather than just the number of businesses it serves. In this regard, Shams is continuing to support Sharjah’s media and creative economy ecosystem in a way that keeps up with global developments and enhances the emirate’s competitiveness and its standing as a top location for innovation and content production.
