The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dr. Hristijan Mickoski, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Along with his formal mission, he was accompanied by North Macedonia’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Abdelqader Mohammedi. Dr. Yusuf Al-Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, joined Dr. Mickoski and his party on a tour of the mosque’s prayer rooms and grounds.
They were informed throughout their tour of the mosque’s pivotal role in advancing openness, tolerance, and coexistence—values firmly anchored in the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, they learnt about the center’s continuous initiatives to promote genuine Islamic culture, create connections with many global civilisations, and set the mosque apart as a special place of prayer.
The party learnt about the mosque’s history, marvelled at its distinctive architectural features, and perused its vast collection of artworks and relics, which showcased the artistic and architectural legacy of Islamic culture.
The mosque’s architecture embodies innovation and togetherness via a harmonious synthesis of many cultural influences.
The center’s most recent book, “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace,” and a compass modelled after the mosque’s famous chandeliers were given to Dr. Mickoski as gifts at the conclusion of the visit.
