President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu of Fiji recently visited the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by Sanaila Laqai, Charge d’Affairs at the Fiji Embassy in the UAE, along with other members of his delegation. The group was welcomed by Dr. Yousif Abdallah Alobaidli, Director-General of the Mosque Centre, who guided them through the mosque’s grand halls and spacious courtyards.

During the visit, Dr. Alobaidli shared insights into the mosque’s rich history and its cultural mission to promote openness, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence inspired by the UAE’s Founding Father. The president’s delegation learned about the mosque’s role in encouraging dialogue between different cultures.

Cultural tour specialist Hamad Al Baloushi also introduced the visitors to the mosque’s stunning artistic and architectural features, highlighting the blend of diverse styles that symbolize unity and creativity. To mark the occasion, President Lalabalavu received a special commemorative gift and a copy of “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace,” featuring award-winning photographs and details about the mosque’s unique architectural identity.

President Surangel S. Whipps Jr. of Palau also visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with his delegation. Their tour included an exploration of the mosque’s history as a symbol of tolerance and harmony, as well as a visit to the mausoleum of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
