Together with the Finance Department of the Dubai Government, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the pilot launch of the Tabby payment facilitator service.
Customers will be able to pay their traffic fines, vehicle registration and driving licence renewal fees in installments under the new service, which the RTA said will enable them to pay the value of their electronic transactions in 4-month installments via smart kiosks.
The RTA stated that its smart kiosks are dispersed among more than 21 places, including the main office of the RTA, customer satisfaction centres, service provider centres, and other locations throughout Dubai.
According to the federal traffic code, stopping abruptly in the middle of the road while driving carries a Dhs1,000 punishment and six black points, according to Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouie, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police.
Noting that the driver should make sure the car is in good condition before leaving the house, Al Mazrouei cautioned against stopping in the middle of the road owing to a vehicle malfunction, running out of petrol, or a flat tire.
He stated that stopping in the middle of the road is one of the most dangerous infractions, resulting in significant collisions, fatalities, and severe injuries. He also added that an accident that occurs for this reason typically results in a large number of victims.
