The Dubai Civil Defence has started the “1 Billion Readiness” campaign under the sponsorship and in the presence of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.
Between 2025 and 2027, the ground-breaking global program, the largest of its kind in safety and fire hazard prevention, intends to educate and train 1 billion individuals globally on prevention strategies.
34 nations and 18 significant firefighting organisations have joined forces in this innovative endeavour, which is spearheaded by the United Arab Emirates. It emphasises how the United Arab Emirates is in the forefront of improving safety and security measures worldwide.
According to Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi: “This project will use extensive awareness efforts to increase awareness throughout the world about fire safety and the value of safety protocols. Specialised digital platforms that are accessible in several languages across the globe will help these initiatives. The Global Wildfire Monitoring Centre and the Dubai Civil Defence Readiness Program will also offer certified electronic certificates to participants upon completion of the course.
In order to reach as many people as possible, Al Matrooshi added, the project would launch massive awareness campaigns at the local level that will target all facets of society, including people, government agencies, the private sector, and educational institutions.
