We recently had the opportunity to interview Mark Diab, Founder and CEO of One O One Properties, a luxury real estate agency based in Dubai. With more than 16 years of expertise in the field of real estate, Mark is passionate about making a positive change in people’s lives. Leading a team of highly skilled consultants and experts in this field, Mark’s company is renowned in the region for specializing in high-end properties in prestigious locations. In this insightful interview, Mark shares his journey, experiences in this field, and visions for the growth of his company.
The Beginning
We started the session by asking, “How did you get started, and what led you to where you are today?”
Mark Diab shared, “I started my adventure after 16 years of touring the world to support refugees while working for the United Nations. Since I come from a family with a history in real estate firms and businesses in Lebanon, I’ve always wanted to launch my own company, especially in the real estate industry. My constant hard work toward my objective, together with my unshakeable dedication and determination, is what has finally led me to where I am now.”

Mark Diab mentioned, “I’ve faced numerous challenges throughout my career, especially in the early stages of building One O One Properties. One of the biggest hurdles was establishing a reputation in a highly competitive market like Dubai. The real estate industry is crowded, and standing out requires not only expertise but also a deep commitment to excellence and building trust with clients.
I’ve always believed that challenges are opportunities for growth. By focusing on solutions rather than obstacles, I’ve been able to lead my team through tough situations, whether it’s market shifts, economic downturns, or any unforeseen circumstances. We continuously adapt and innovate, which has allowed us to not only survive but thrive.”
He concluded, “Ultimately, leadership is about staying resilient, maintaining a clear vision, and supporting your team. When you lead with integrity and determination, you can turn any challenge into a stepping stone toward greater success.”

We further asked, “How do you see technology, especially AI, impacting your industry? Are there any innovative practices you’re implementing?”
“AI and technology are transforming the real estate industry in profound ways. From streamlining operations and improving investment decisions to enhancing the customer experience, the innovation potential is huge. The businesses that embrace these technological advances—whether through AI-driven tools, smart homes, virtual tours, or blockchain—will not only stay competitive but will likely lead the way in shaping the future of real estate.
Those who fail to adapt may risk being left behind in an increasingly tech-driven market. The future of real estate is not just about buildings—it’s about intelligent systems that make buying, selling, and managing properties more efficient, transparent, and accessible.” Mark added.

Eager to learn the visions of Mark for the future of the real estate field, we inquired, “What are your views on the future of the industry you’re associated with?”
Ultimately, my vision is to build a business that isn’t just about transactions but about creating spaces that improve lives, foster community, and promote sustainability—all while leading the industry in innovation and technology integration. Being a Pisces, I am naturally passionate and determined, and these traits have helped fuel the company’s growth. My focus is always on leading with confidence and maintaining a strong connection with both my team and clients to ensure we achieve the collective goals we set out to accomplish.” He replied.
Mark Diab reflected, “The real estate industry is heading into a future that is highly influenced by technology, sustainability, changing demographics, and new social and economic dynamics. The key to success will be adaptability—being open to new ideas, embracing innovation, and understanding shifting consumer needs. Those who focus on long-term trends like sustainability, technology, and affordability, while staying agile in a changing market, will be best positioned to thrive.
As the industry evolves, I believe that the most successful players will be those who blend a deep understanding of market fundamentals with an ability to adapt to emerging trends, all while maintaining a commitment to creating value and improving people’s lives.”
Advice To Aspiring Professionals
Addressing the beginners, we asked, “What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs or leaders looking to make an impact in your industry?”
“For aspiring entrepreneurs and leaders looking to make an impact in real estate or any industry, I say start with a strong vision and purpose, build a strong network and relationships, focus on learning and adaptation, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, work hard but don’t burn out, lead with integrity, stay resilient, and be patient.
Success is a combination of vision, hard work, adaptability, and continuous learning. If you’re passionate, willing to take smart risks, and committed to serving others, you’ll not only make an impact in your industry but also build a legacy that lasts.” Mark responded.
Balancing For Success
We ended the interview by asking, “How do you maintain a work-life balance while managing a business?”
Mark Diab shared, “Maintaining a work-life balance while managing a business can be challenging, but it’s crucial for long-term success and well-being.
One of the most important things is to define specific work hours and stick to them as much as possible. While owning a business often means being on call, it’s vital to create personal time for yourself, your family, or hobbies. Not everything can be done by you. Learning to delegate tasks and trust your team is essential. Prioritize what needs your attention and allow others to handle tasks that don’t require your direct involvement.”
“I rely on time-blocking to structure my day. I dedicate certain hours to work, and others to family, exercise, or relaxation. It helps me stay productive without feeling overwhelmed. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to staying productive and focused. I make time for exercise, healthy meals, and adequate sleep. Mental clarity and physical energy are foundational to maintaining balance.
When I’m with family or taking time off, I make sure to be fully present. It helps recharge my energy and allows me to return to work more focused and creative. Ultimately, it’s about creating habits that support both your professional goals and personal well-being and being mindful about taking breaks and stepping away when necessary.” Mark concluded.
