Indian media reports that Manoj Kumar, a veteran actor and filmmaker best known for his patriotic films and significant contributions to Indian cinema, died at the age of 87. According to ANI, the actor died early on Friday, April 4, at approximately 3.30 a.m. at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

Deeply saddened by his passing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to him as a “icon of Indian cinema” whose creations inspired a sense of patriotism. Deeply saddened by the passing of legendary actor and filmmaker Shri Manoj Kumar Ji,” PM Modi tweeted in a touching social media tribute. An icon of Indian cinema, he was especially well-known for his patriotic fervour, which was evident in his works.

In an interview with ANI, Manish R. Goswami, Manoj Jumar’s cousin, stated, “This is sad news for the entire country.” Today marks the end of the patriotic filmmaking period, a period of authentic Indian patriotism.

Homage to X was also given by Indian President Droupadi Murmu, who expressed sadness at the passing of the renowned actor and director Manoj Kumar Ji. He has made a lasting impression on Indian film. Throughout his lengthy and illustrious career, he gained recognition for his patriotic films that fostered pride in India’s ideals and contributions.
