Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officially opened a significant bridge on Sunday to improve traffic flow from Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street to the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street. The 1,210-meter bridge has three lanes and can accommodate 4,800 vehicles per hour.

The opening is a part of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project’s Phase 4, which covers 4.8 km along Sheikh Rashid Road from the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street to its intersection with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street. The five bridges built during this phase span 3.1 km and have a combined capacity of 19,400 cars per hour across all lanes.

The project also entails the construction of two pedestrian bridges, one on Sheikh Rashid Road and the other on Al Mina Street, the development of 4.8 km of road, and enhancements to surface intersections on Jumeirah Street, Al Mina Street, and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street.

The Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project is being implemented under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, with the close supervision of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA.
