
The Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, paid a visit to the 17th International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) on Wednesday. The current edition is the biggest in the event’s history, with major military leaders, international defence corporations, and influential industry decision-makers all taking part.
On the third day of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025, the Tawazun Council, which oversees contracts, procurement, and acquisitions for the Ministry of Defence and security agencies, announced that ten contracts totalling Dhs10.18 billion had been signed with both domestic and foreign businesses. The total value of 28 deals disclosed throughout the first three days of the event now stands at Dhs19.95 billion.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the UAE’s defence industries’ noteworthy advancements during the tour, highlighting how they support the leadership’s goal of creating key sectors. In order to guarantee that development activities proceed without hindrance, he emphasised the importance of improving defence readiness, which will eventually strengthen the UAE’s commitment to advancing peace.
