Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled Dubai Mallathon, a community-driven campaign on Thursday that encourages everyone to be physically active every day throughout the summer.

According to the plan, from August 1 to August 31, retail malls in Dubai will be converted into organized health and exercise tracks throughout the morning hours, from 7:00 to 10:00am. Seven of Dubai’s most popular shopping destinations Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Springs Souk, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Mall of the Emirates, and Dubai Marina Mall—will have dedicated walking and jogging paths as part of the project.

The Year of Community, Dubai Social Agenda 33, and Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 33 all have goals that are in line with Dubai Mallathon. These goals include providing the best living conditions, residential services, and cultural and athletic events while honoring the UAE’s architectural, cultural, and environmental legacy.

According to Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai aims to establish new international standards for wellbeing by integrating fitness into everyday life. The city hopes to promote healthier lives, build a more lively, encouraging social life, and cultivate a sense of connection via meaningful programs that connect the community, he continued.
