An agreement to carry out some affordable housing projects in the emirate was signed in front of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Municipality, and Wasl Group inked the deal.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the RTA by Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the RTA’s Board of Executive Directors, and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning.
Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, CEO of Wasl Group, signed on behalf of Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC), and Marwan Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, signed on behalf of the Municipality.
The agreement complies with a direction issued by the Executive Council of Dubai to allot land for affordable housing projects, by the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the goals of the Affordable Housing Policy.
The policy’s objectives are to create thriving, healthy communities, assist metropolitan areas that are the hubs of important economic sectors, diversify job possibilities, and meet the housing and service requirements of people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
